Commercial and Institutional Security

Business and Commercial Security in Alabama

Access control, cameras, intercoms, fire alarms and 24/7 monitoring for Gulf Coast businesses, schools, hospitals and public buildings.

The Buildings We Already Protect

The City of Mobile, the Baldwin County Board of Education, the Baldwin County Commission, Providence Hospital, Thomas Hospital, the University of South Alabama, Bishop State, Coastal Alabama Community College, the United States Sports Academy, Bayside Academy, the FBI, the State of Alabama, OWA and The Wharf are all on our client list.

That work is the reason the commercial side of Hunter Security exists in the shape it does. School districts, hospitals and municipal buildings do not buy a package. They carry code requirements, inspection schedules and a list of people who are allowed through a given door at a given hour.

We have been on the Alabama Gulf Coast since 1978, independently and locally owned, and we service what we sell.

Access Control Is Usually the Real Problem

Most businesses that call us already have an alarm. What they do not have is a way to answer the question of who opened which door and when.

Access control replaces keys with credentials you can turn off. When somebody leaves the company, you remove one card instead of rekeying a building. Doors can unlock on a schedule and lock again when the schedule ends. Every entry is a record you can pull later.

The same system handles gates, elevators and interior doors that only part of the staff should be able to open. For a school, that includes the exterior doors that stay locked during the day.

Life Safety and the Systems Inspectors Ask About

Commercial fire alarm is a separate discipline from burglary, and it comes with an inspection schedule and a code official who signs off on it. We design, install, inspect and monitor commercial fire alarm systems, and we hold the Alabama license, #312, that the work requires.

Alabama requires panic alarm capability in schools. We install and monitor those systems across Baldwin and Mobile counties, alongside the intercoms, camera systems and access control that a campus runs on.

Life safety management is the part of this business that grows every year, because a building that passes inspection and a building that is actually covered are not always the same building.

Why Gulf Coast Businesses Choose Hunter Security

Institutional experience

Schools, hospitals, colleges and municipal buildings have been our work for decades, not a new market we moved into.

Our own monitoring office

Staffed around the clock, with video monitoring 365 days a year, on the Gulf Coast rather than out of state.

One vendor for the building

Burglary, fire, access control, intercom and camera work come from one company that already knows the site.

Alabama licensed, #312

Licensed by the Alabama Electronic Security Board of Licensure for the alarm and fire work the code requires.

We service what we sell

The company that designs and installs the system also inspects it and repairs it. No dealer network in the middle.

Local since 1978

Independently and locally owned on the same coast since 1978, with technicians who can be on site the same day.

What We Install in a Commercial Building

Access control. Credential based entry for doors, gates and elevators, with schedules, per person permissions and a record of every entry.

Commercial fire alarm. Design, installation, inspection and monitoring of fire alarm systems, built to pass the inspection and to work on the day it matters.

Camera and video surveillance systems. Interior, exterior and parking coverage, recorded and viewable remotely, sized for a building rather than a house.

Intercom systems. Entry intercoms and campus wide intercom for schools and institutional buildings.

Burglary and hold-up alarms. Perimeter and interior detection with panic capability, including the school panic alarms Alabama requires.

Gate and elevator control. Controlled vehicle access and elevator floor restriction tied into the same credential system.

Asset protection and 24/7 monitoring. Our own office, staffed around the clock, with video monitoring 365 days a year.

Where We Work

Our office is at 28228 N Main St in Daphne, and our commercial technicians cover both sides of Mobile Bay. We work in Mobile and Mobile County, across Baldwin County from Spanish Fort and Daphne down through Foley, Gulf Shores and Orange Beach, plus the institutional campuses in between.

If you are putting a project out for quote, call the office and a specialist will walk the building with you.
